Description:

The Sugar Act of 1764 reduced taxes on sugar and molasses, however made tax collecting rules stricter in the colonies. The Sugar Act signaled the end of salutary neglect because now Britain was collecting taxes again. This infuriated the colonists because they believed that it was unfair that they were being taxed. This was another major event that led to the Revolutionary War.
