Description:

The Civil War begun with the Battle of Fort Sumter. Despite the expectation that the Civil War would be a quick fight, the war raged on until 1865 and was the deadliest war in American history. The total death toll was over 600,000 Americans. The Union won the war, mainly because of their surplus of men and resources. Following the conclusion of the war, the Confederacy rejoined the Union, and the United States abolished slavery.
