The War of 1812 was between the United States and Britain. It stemmed from the British violation of neutrality rights, the practice of impressment, and conflict regarding the West. While the war wasn’t as easy as many anticipated, the United States emerged victorious. However, despite the win, the Treaty of Ghent (that ended the war) didn’t address any of the issues that were being fought over.
