The Fugitive Slave Act was set in place by Henry Clay and Daniel Webster and Stephen A. Douglas. This was the most controversial act that came out of the Compromise of 1850. It required many different legal stand points and trials. The tension between the North and South was growing. Some of the North was ignoring the act and illegally keeping slaves, there was more fights and division between the North and South
