Description:
The Great Sphinx statue has a lion body and a the head on an Egyptian King. It was carved out of limestone on the Giza plateau. This was during the time of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. The Sphinx measures about 240 feet long, and stands 66 feet high. The Sphinx was not always call that the other name is a Greek word “Shesep-Ankh”.Added to timeline:
