Description:
The battle of Ypres started in stages, the first stage was the successful attempt to break out of the salient at Messines and take cover in a high ground to overlook Ypres. The next stage was another breakthrough, but it was not possible with heavy rain and drainage systems were destroyed. The result was a muddy battlefield and puddles formed.Added to timeline:
