Description:
Two men (Clack & Vondelehr) started study to follow untreated African American men to gather preliminary data; demonstrate the need for a treatment program. In 1921 The two men used their results to follow-up on the study. Enrolled 399 men with syphilis. 201 of them were controls. In 1936 the first major paper was published; men in study had syphilis.
