Along with the arrival of a new prime minister, Nepal carried out local district elections for the first time in two decades. All the while, political divisions of half a century, stirred by the 2015 constitution, endure which prevent remediation from natural disasters, stifle female rights, encouraged international aid (particularly of China) and continue the tradition of Nepali laborers seeking employment internationally.
