oct 10, 1902 - Great Anthracite Coal Strike

Description:

This strike started in October 1902. The reason for this was that the Miners struck for higher wages, shorter workdays and the recognition of their union. The strike was threatened to shut down the winter fuel supply to major American cities. What had happened is that President Theodore Roosevelt became concerned that a bad crisis could develop to intervene unsuccessfully. J.P. Morgan believed the strike could threaten his working jobs an could ruin the made deal with the union that he had. October 23, 1902 was when the strike ended.
