jun 6, 1944 - The Battle of Normandy

Description:

The Battle of Normandy is the largest amphibious invasion in history. The battle was a pivotal point in the war for the Allies, as capturing this area provided a beach for troops to land on and many other small factors made Normandy a critical point to capture. The Third Canadian Infantry Divison would land on Juno Beach and most of the division had not faced real combat. On D-Day, a little over 300 Canadians were killed, but by the end of the fighting in Normandy over 5000 Canadians were killed.
