Description:

Robert Schumann died on July 29th, 1856 in Bonn, Germany at the age of 46. He died in the Dr. Franz Richarz's sanatorium for the insane after he admitted himself after attempting suicide. He may have died as a result of syphilis that he could have contracted as student. His symptoms were consistent with mercury poisoning, which was used to treat syphilis.
