Description:
Prior to the Dieppe Raid, the Canadian army had not been in many battles. The Raid acted as a test for the Canadian army. Nearly 5000 Canadians fought in Dieppe and a little over 2000 returned. Even though they faced heavy casualties, this failure would provide many lessons to an army that had not been tested many times prior.
