apr 25, 1846 - The Mexican-American War

Description:

-It was an armed conflict between the United States of America and the United Mexican States.
-Important people included: James K. Polk, Winfield Scott, Zachary Taylor, Stephen W. Kearny, John D. Sloat, William J. Sloat, Robert F. Stockton, and more.....
-It led to the Civil War because it started off leading Mexico to have to give what is now the Southwest to the United States. This meant that a great number of new states were going to be admitted in the following years. The question as to whether or not those states would be free or slave is what really let to the war.
