oct 2, 1835 - The Battle of Gonzales. The Mexicans wanted the cannon that they gave the Texans to defend themselves from the Natives. The Texans buried the cannon and waved a flag that said "Come and Take It." When they came, the Texans attacked, and the Mexicans surrendered.
