In 1962, the company Phillips invented the first cassette tape. They introduced it to the public in Europe on August 30th 1963 at the Berlin Radio Show and in the US (under a different brand called Norelco) in November 1964 with their own trademark name 'Compact Cassette'.Added to timeline:
