oct 29, 1851 - Reservation System (Indian Appropriation Act)
Description:
Passed by congress, authorized the creation of indian reservation in what is now oklahoma. This essentially created the Indian reservation system by providing funds to move Indian tribes into reservations to keep them under control of the U.S. government, minimize the conflicts between Indians and settlers and encourage Native Americans to assimilate to the white culture.
