may 30, 1854 - The Kansas-Nebraska Act

Description:

When the Whig Party was destroyed, which sent the Union on a downward slope. Southern politicians were hoping to expand slavery throughout the Lousiana Purchase. They knew in the North, this was not what they wanted but they went along with it. This ended up destroying the Whig Party, forming a new Republican Party. In the end, this decreases the wages of free workers and degraded the dignity of manual labor.
