Description:

The Allies launched an amphibious raid against the German-occupied port of Dieppe, France. This raid was a complete disaster. The allied troops failed to meet their objective of capturing the port. About 60 percent of the troops that made it ashore were either killed, injured or captured. Most of these troops belonged to the Canadian 2nd Infantry Division.
