jan 1, 1886 - South West Railroad Strike
Description:
The Southwest Railroad Strike was a walk out that occurred for several months in 1886, when railroad workers stopped operating trains due to poor working conditions. There were over 200,000 workers who simply refused to work, and negotiations weren't getting them anywhere. It finally ended when the workers started arguing, and the union inevitablly failed.
