nov 12, 1930 - 1st round table conference
Description:
Chairman: Ramsay MacDonald.
As civil disobedience campaign took place just before Round Table conference, many congress members didn't participate. The main agenda of RTC was to focus on issues related to transfer subjects so indirectly education was part of it. But main agenda was to break the deadlock in minorities committee on the quest of reserved seats for minorities' communities.
As a result of it after a lot of compromise Gandhi- Irwin pact took place. This RTC was followed by other two Roundtable Conferences which took place in 1931 (RTC- 2) and 1932 (RTC – 3). But all the RTC's failed because nobody was ready to compromise and opinions of the stake holders were always disputing.
