oct 29, 1939 - The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan

Description:

This was a program set up by Britain to train pilots for air combat. Considering Britain was so close to Germany, if any air training was done there the Germans could easily spy and gather information. Britain proposed that Canada could host this program. Canada was an ally of Britain, and they were far enough that no one would spy on them. Canadian skies were used to train over 100 000 pilots over the course of the war. 2.
