Although Prime-Minister Karami had announced another truce two days earlier, it was ignored by the LNM leaders until December 11. However, even on that date fighting continued on the Hotel district as the Muslim-leftists retook the Phoenicia and St Georges Hotels, forced the Lebanese Army out of the area, and launched an unsuccessful assault on the Phalangist-held Holiday Inn.
