On July 17, a conference was held in the city of Kufa to hold a truce between the rebels in the area of Al-Shamiya, Najaf and English. The conference was attended by English Major Major Torbury, the Governor of Shamia and Najaf [33] . The rebels, in addition to tribal chiefs in the region, included Sheikh Abdul-Karim al-Jazairi and Jawad al-Jawahiri, who were representatives of Sheikh Fathallah al-Asfahani . The two sides were finally agreed on a four-day truce starting from the first day of Dhul-Qa'dah (1338 Hijri) For July 17, where the garrison of Abu Sakhir withdraws to Kufa without causing harm to it. Major Norbury has pledged to review the Governor General in Baghdad about the demands of the rebels in the brigade:
