Events-This was a Constitution that would allow Kansas to be a slave state. The Pro-slavery people, which included President James Buchanan, tried to get Congress to accept the Constitution. There was a lot of opposition so it was sent back for a vote. The Kansas votes rejected it and it then became a free state.
How it led- This helped cause the Civil War, because it was another event that caused unrest between the two sides.
