Pete’s daughter Christine begins freshman year at WVU, says she chose WVU due to Promise scholarship and solid engineering program.Pete said he was privately praying Christine would choose WVU for these reasons too. He said he would’ve been forced to take out student loans for her if she chose her other top school, N.C. State, but he was glad she chose WVU. He and his wife Jeanine have been able to cover Christine’s costs outside of what scholarships didn’t.
