dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party
Description:
A group of Boston's citizens dressed up as Native Americans (Mohawks) and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Harbor. This was mainly to retaliate against the 1773 Tea Act. To punish the colonies and to reestablish authority, Great Britain implemented the Intolerable or Coercive acts. This infuriated the colonists, and most likely encouraged many of them to see the downfalls of being ruled by Britain, causing tension between the two parties.
