dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party

Description:

The colonists hated the tea tax and all the other taxes, so they decided to take it out on the British tea at the Boston harbor. The Sons of Liberty got onto the ship and threw 342 boxes of tea into the sea. The Coercive Acts were put into effect after this and pushed the colonists and British even closer to war.
"On the night of December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This resulted in the passage of the punitive Coercive Acts in 1774 and pushed the two sides closer to war."
