By 1814 both sides are fighting to a stalemate and the treaty of Ghent is signed in order to establish the borders of Canada and America.

Indigenous communities are once again betrayed a their land has been impeded upon as a product of the land negotiations that take place during the creation of the treaty of ghent. this is important because it lays more poor foundation between indigenous populations of canada and the british who settled it pre-confederation.
