mar 22, 1765 - Stamp Act of 1765
Description:
This act put a tax on every single printed document in the colonies to further raise funds for war debt. Therefore, every piece of paper was taxed. The tax effected everyone every day. Some examples are legal documents, licenses newspapers, and even playing cards. The Stamp Act was the first of many taxes that were made without colonial representation.
