Description:

This act gave a dual form of government a "diarchy" for the major provinces. The rules of diarchy divided as "Reserved subjects" and "Transferred subjects." And the term "Subject" signifies multiple functions of government/ administration work. Reserve subjects were given to Britishers known as "counselors." The points covered by reserve issues were "the law and order, the police, the land revenue, irrigation, and transferred subjects cover's points like local self- govt., education, public health, public works, agriculture, forest, and fisheries. As a result of this system Government stopped taking central interest in development of education. The education department was under the control of various popular ministries in different provinces. Hence, the expansion and quality check ofeducation was hindered. This diarchy governance ended up with the introduction of provincial autonomy in the year of 1935.
