jan 6, 1807 - Embargo Act
Description:
Jefferson set an embargo on trading and dealing with foreign countries. While dealing with American made goods only unified the nation, the act made people begin to smuggle and go behind the government's back. The Federalist were angry at Jefferson due to him being weak because of how he let Britain take U.S. ships, and he didn't do anything about it. Jefferson was reluctant to go to war because he cut the military by half.
