jul 28, 1750 - The Deportation of the Acadians Begins

Description:

Following the French and Indian war, Acadia had lost any good will they had with the British when they attacked British forces in Nova Scotia, and given an ultimatum. When Acadian leaders refused to swear allegiance, they were rounded up for expulsion, or even just killed.

Not only did this shape the state of Nova Scotia with the removal of a large French Catholic population, the expulsion also led to a series of attacks laid out by the French on British North America. This tension would then spill over into large scale battles, ending with the defeat of New France by the British.
