Fancois L'Ollonnais was considered the most cruel pirate at the time. Tortuga was his base, and anyne who resisted him was killed and tortured, usually for information regardinship schedules and treasure. In 1669 he led an attack against Spanish towns and captured a ship loaded with gems. He died in one of these attacks.Added to timeline:
