oct 1, 1935 - Italian invasion of Ethiopia

Description:

The US invoked Neutrality Laws, which authorized the president to place an embargo on arms sold to all countries involved in the war. Sanctions had little effect. The laws were put into place 3 days after the invasion began. Britain and France both lifted economic sanctions soon after Italy conquered Ethiopia, which effectively showed that Italy’s presence in Ethiopia was recognized.
