apr 22, 1870 - Vladimir Lenin
Description:
The date is his birthday- Lenin was the founder of the communist Bolsheviks and in 1917 his party took control, which allowed him to establish a new government. This new establishment is when WAR COMMUNISM had begun, which refers to a set of policies that he instituted. The PROLETARIAT resisted these new policies as they became greatly disadvantaged but these policies were described to be temporary to allow the country to recover. Lenin then introduced his New Economic Plan which allowed many things to be privately owned once again. This plan replaced the policies of war communism, however, Lenin maintained his control over the COMMANDING HEIGHTS of the economy. With this, Lenin had adapted many of Marx's ideas which resulted in the ideology of MARXISM-LENINISM.
