Carolyn starts freshman year at WVU. She said the culture at WVU wasn’t the same as it was when she took her kids there. The female dorms were located where Dadisman and Stalnaker Halls are today. The male dorms were located where the Boreman Halls are. She said drinking was only prevalent on the weekends, and the bar she and friends liked to go to was called The Blue and Gold; or at least, that’s what she remembers calling it.
She met her husband Pete Sr. on campus. Her and Pete Sr. were from the same town and their families knew of each other, but they hadn’t spent time together until they went to college.
