Description:
1545-1563. Reaffirmed the traditional Catholic beliefs and practices, including the Scripture & Church being equal authorities. They reaffirmed that both faith and good works were necessary for salvation, they upheld the seven sacraments, transubstantiation, clerical celibacy, and indulgences. The Council of Trent clearly defined the Catholic body of doctrine and set an organizational framework. Pope Paul.
