jul 2, 1964 - The US Civil Rights Act is passed.

Description:

This milestone in the social progressive movement was perhaps the most effective and monumental legal document be implemented in the US in the 20th century. The Civil Rights Act intended to end segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race, skin colour, sex, religion or national origin. It is considered one of the crowning feats in the civil rights movement for the reason that it’s influence was on an extremely broad scale and brought strict consequences upon previously legal acts.
