may 17, 1954 - US Supreme Court makes segregated schools illegal.
Description:
On this date, the US Supreme Court declared segregation in school unconstitutional thereby outlawed it. The ruling banned the ongoing discrimination which took place on a widespread manner across the United States in an attempt to alleviate the pain endured on a day to day basis by the African American community. Although this didn’t eradicate the issue across the nation immediately, it acted as a large-scale progressive action toward the gradual legal equalisation of the races in the US.
