jan 4, 1897 - Joseph John Thomson Born December 18, 1856, near Manchester, England Died August 30, 1940, In Cambridge, England J.J. Thomson first studied experimental physics and math at Manchester university and then went to Cambridge. He also started the theory of electromagnetism and found the electron using his cathode ray tube. He also predicted of a particle like the proton.
