jan 1, 1909 - Established as a Corporate Body
Description:
The Canadian Red Cross almost disappeared entirely after the Boer War. But, supporters fought to keep them alive. They were now legally a corporation responsible for providing volunteer aid to Canadians. Though they were only funded by Canadians and only helped where Canadians were, they were still a branch of the British Red Cross. This new development made them second to only the Canadian Military's medical services.
