oct 31, 1517 - Martin Luther's 95 Theses (SP)
Description:
Marks the true beginning of the Reformation. Martin Luther wrote these Theses against indulgences, which he believed to be unholy. Luther begins Lutheranism, a new and reformed religion that has reformed the Catholic practices. This event fits the AP Euro theme of States and Other Institution of Powers because it is a time where there is questioning of the power of the Catholic Church. This event also fits the theme of Individual and Society because a lot of it had to do with personal religious preference or conflict.
