Description:

Gave the right of each individual ruler to choose the religion of their kingdom. Only Lutheran or Catholic could be chosen. This event fits the AP Euro theme of States and Other Institution of Powers because it is a time where there is questioning of the power of the Catholic Church. In this case, the government is responding to the criticisms by allowing for more than one religion to exist.
