jan 1, 1968 - Large Scale Analogue Multitrack
Description:
At this time it was possible to to have 8 - 16 tracks on recordings however through daisy chain effect. Connecting up tape recorders you could have up to 48 tracks .
Because of the large amount of tracks there was no need for bouncing down tracks this caused artists to experiment a lot
this now meant each instrument could have their own track and edits to specific tracks could be made
Overdubbing was now not very common in this time
there was hardly any synchronization issues at
Because of more channels came the demand to edit everything at once or rather to control them. This brought about the invention of the mixing board (SSL) and the many controls they have like pre amp, Gain Compression etc...
Analogue was of course still a thing which meant tape saturation, hiss, warmth.
