The Tea Act's purpose was to raise money by placing a tax on British tea, seeming as it was a commonly bought item. The colonies had previously not accepted tea being sold out of the colonies by the British but, the British still pushed this on to them, which later lead to The Boston Tea Party.Added to timeline:
