jun 15, 1767 - Townshend Acts

Description:

The Townshend Acts were placed a tax on glass, paper, paint, and tea. Colonists were upset mostly with the tax on tea because many of them drank it up to twice a day. The colonists were angry with Britain, so the non-importation agreements went into effect again.
"Townshend hoped the acts would defray imperial expenses in the colonies, but many Americans viewed the taxation as an abuse of power, resulting in the passage of agreements to limit imports from Britain."
