This event was the first colonial action taken against England and was a response to the Stamp Act of 1765. Representatives of 9 of the 13 colonies attended the meeting.
The result of the meeting was the writing petitions, or letters of grievances, to the king and parliament, along with the passage of the Declaration of Rights and Grievances.
