apr 2, 1680 - Pueblo Revolt

Description:

Aftermath of the Acoma massacre 100 years later. Revenge was being plotted against the Spanish for a really long time.
The Spanish messed up by teaching the Pueblo people how to speak Spanish and go to missionaries. The Pueblo hated the Spanish. The Spanish said the Pueblo’s religion was full of problems so the Spanish killed the very important religious people/leaders.
The Pueblo kill all of the Catholic priests, destroy missions, and expelled the Spanish government in New Mexico and retake their land in the late 1600s. The Pueblo people united together and beat the Spanish. Huge victory for the Native Americans.
The Spanish backed off and remained back off.
