Joey wanted to go to college for film. He was going through brochures about the top film programs when he came across Emerson College. He fell in love with it. Emerson is a very hard school to get into. (2015-16 acceptance rate is 49%) The application requires a video. He sent in a short horror film. He believed that, that was his best work. He didn't get accepted. This broke Joey in a way words can't describe. But instead of giving up he picked himself up and kept moving forward. He applied for four other school as back up and got into Fitchburg State College.
College started out great. He had met a girl named Chloe, who was in the same major, in a Facebook group the school made for freshmen.
He wasn't really happy with the dorm set up. He was in a forced triple, a room made for 2 but they put a bunkbed in to squeeze in another student. The suite he was in had three other rooms in it and it was filled up with the stereotypical jock.
Joey had him and 2 really good friends (Chloe being one of them and Amanda, a friend he had in high school.) They became a little family...at first. They would go get dinner together and go out to parties or play video games together, but Joey soon became tired go going out to trashy apartments was not his idea of a good time. He didn't want to go out anymore and have to carry them home because they got too intoxicated. They became toxic for Joey to hang out with, they made fun of his intelligence and excluding him. He became lonely and didn't want to leave his room just to see other people having fun.
