dec 30, 2009 - Not-So-Happy New Year

Its winter break and Joey is now home but he finds out that his mom got back into drinking. his mom and step-dad technically split up again but they stilled lived in the same house.
Joey just wanted to spend the new year with some friends, just hanging out. His mom came home from the bar with some strange man. He said that he brought some beer for him and his friends to, "bring in the new year right." Joey went up to get his step-dad to get rid of the guy. luckly he left without a struggle and they continued their night, but Joey's mom still tried to get them to "have fun." She finally went to bed.
A few days later Joey and his mom got into a really bad fight. Joey said and did somethings that filled him with regret and anger. "Brick by brick a huge wall was going up between us, and i was starting to no longer even see her as my mother.", is what he said in his book.
He couldn't keep living where is is misrable at home and school, something needs to change.
